Since 2010, Piedmont Language School has offered Spanish instruction in partnership with the Bay Area non-profit language school Viva el Español. Viva el Español is a full-immersion Spanish program that brings a proven, high-quality curriculum provided by experienced, trained, native Spanish-speaking teachers. Classes include activities such as singing, movement, role-playing, games, storytelling, arts and crafts and cooking.
Mandarin instruction at Piedmont Language School covers spoken and written Mandarin for basic core topics of daily life, as well as discussion of Chinese culture, history, geography and folklore.
Since 2022, Piedmont Language School has offered Mandarin instruction in partnership with the Bay Area non-profit language school East Bay Chinese School.
The goal of the program is to encourage interest in and appreciation of Chinese culture and Mandarin, and teach basic conversational ability and Chinese characters. Simplified form characters are taught, and the pinyin system is used for phonetics.
